Florianópolis — Floripa, as everyone there calls it — puts the retreat inside one of the fastest-growing builder scenes in the ecosystem. The hackathon runs through the retreat rather than over a weekend, so a project has weeks of real work behind it before anyone judges it. You build in the same room as the people who will use it, put it in front of the house in feedback sessions, and change it while they are still there to ask. It ends in a live demo day judged by the community and ecosystem partners.

Casa Island Villa is on Floripa. The closest neighbourhoods to book accommodation in are Jurerê Internacional and Jurerê Leste — both are within easy reach of the casa, and most citizens stay in one of the two.
Book early. October and November are the start of the season in Florianópolis and the good places near the casa go first.
Do I have to come for the whole month?
No. The retreat is split into weeks and you pick the ones you want when you apply.
How does applying work?
You apply with your wallet, choose your weeks and sign the event terms. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and you hear back by email either way. Accepted applicants get a personalised Builder Pass.
Why do I need a wallet?
Registration, your pass and check-in at the house all run on-chain through the IslandDAO app. The wallet you apply with is the identity you use on-site, so use one you will have on your phone.
What do I need to bring?
A project or the intent to start one, and a Telegram handle — that is where event comms happen.
