On-chain
by default.
IslandDAO is governed by its community through on-chain voting powered by Realms. Every member with $ISLAND tokens can propose, debate, and vote on the decisions that shape the community.
How governance works.
Hold $ISLAND tokens
Tokens are earned through community contributions, event participation, and ecosystem work. They represent voting weight in the DAO.
Submit or review proposals
Anyone can draft a proposal on Realms — budget requests, event decisions, partnerships, community programs. Discussion happens in Discord first.
Vote on-chain
When a proposal is live, token holders vote yes, no, or abstain. Votes are tallied on-chain — no back-room deals, no ignored minorities.
Treasury executes
Approved proposals execute automatically or through a council multisig, depending on the proposal type and amount.
Why on-chain matters.
Transparent treasury
Every token and transaction is on-chain. Anyone can audit where funds come from and where they go.
Member-driven
Event decisions, budget allocations, partnerships — community members vote on what matters. No single operator controls the outcome.
Proportional voice
Voting weight is proportional to contribution. Members who build, ship, and show up hold more weight than passive holders.
Your vote counts.
Join the community, participate in events, earn $ISLAND tokens, and have a say in the direction of IslandDAO.
